Our Family Holiday at TUI Blue Nausicaa – A Last-Minute Cyprus Escape

This year, our family holiday took us back to Cyprus. Many years ago, before kids, we had visited Protaras as a young couple and promised ourselves we would return. And it did not disappoint!

Normally, with four children, we book our holidays well in advance, but after focusing on home improvements this year, we decided to take a last-minute break. With the unpredictable UK weather, we booked our trip just four weeks before departure, hoping for a week of sunshine and relaxation.

Traveling as a family of five (we left our eldest behind this time), we knew we wanted an all-inclusive stay to make things easier with the kids. Given the short notice, there weren’t many options available, but we settled on TUI Blue Nausicaa Beach Hotel—and what a great choice it turned out to be.

TUI Blue Nausicaa is a beautiful seafront hotel in Protaras, offering both relaxation and luxury. The modern design, spacious rooms, and stunning views of the Mediterranean were exactly what we needed. The hotel boasts two pools, a gym, and a spa, and the all-inclusive package provided a fantastic variety of dining options, including delicious Cypriot and international dishes—not to mention the cocktails that were a lovely bonus!

The staff at the hotel were fantastic. Always attentive, nothing was ever too much trouble, and they served us with a smile every time. The location was ideal—although we stayed all-inclusive, I love being close to a town to explore. Protaras town center is less than a 10-minute walk away, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars to enjoy. Right in front of the hotel is a beautiful boardwalk along the seafront, perfect for an early morning stroll or run, which I enjoyed, especially while watching the sunrise. One highlight of the trip was swimming with turtles! Just a 6-7 minute walk along the seafront, we discovered some quiet coves where, every morning, we had the magical experience of swimming with turtles. We went four times, and every time, the turtle appeared, and the other tourists were respectful—no feeding or touching, which was great to see. In front of the hotel, there are also three jetties with steps leading straight into the crystal-clear waters, perfect for a snorkel or a dip without getting sandy! For those who prefer a sandy beach, Fig Tree Bay is just a couple of minutes away, offering shallow waters and a range of watersports. Cyprus has so much to offer in terms of excursions, and driving is a breeze since they drive on the same side as us. While we didn’t venture too far, we did visit the nearby water park in Ayia Napa, just a 20-minute cab ride away (or accessible by local bus). The water park was a big hit with the kids, offering slides for all ages and a fun break from the pool and beach. Would I recommend TUI Blue Nausicaa and Protaras? Absolutely, 100%! Whether you’re looking for relaxation or want to explore this resort has it all.
